Where We Are Now: Recent Student Council Projects

Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser

Student Council will be holding its annual Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser on October 25th! Students are encouraged to wear their pajamas to school in exchange for a suggested donation of $1. For a $1 donation, students receive a pink breast cancer ribbon, hand made by Student Council members, to wear in solidarity.

In the last three years of hosting this event, we have raised over $2,000 for breast cancer and have matched this figure with money from our own funds. All money raised goes directly to the Lahey Breast Care Center in Woburn, MA.

ARTmosphere Project

The ARTmosphere Project committee was created with the goal of hanging student-designed murals around the school to celebrate WHS artists and create a more vibrant and creative learning space.

Currently, the committee is working on painting another mural, and will be collecting designs for the second round of murals soon! If you would like to submit a design, forms will be in the main office by October 25th.

Pep Rally

Night of the Arts is one of Student Council’s most profound productions. In early spring, this community event, open to the public, displays the most creative artwork, ranging from drawings; paintings; sculptures; videos; films; photographs; and live performances, our students and faculty have to offer. NOTA is a night to remember! It is time to appreciate and support the artistic talents to be found at WHS. This year’s NOTA will be on March 18. Please join us for a night filled with talent and fun!
