Celebrating Brenda Martino

On November 2nd, 2022, our community lost a shining light with the passing of Brenda Martino, a WHS Class of 2022 graduate. She was an inspiration to many, and our deepest sympathies are with her family and loved ones.

Today, WHS students gathered in the library to celebrate Brenda’s life and legacy. Both students and teachers shared personal stories about the impact Brenda left on them, and on everyone around her.

This ceremony was not organized by Student Council, but we wanted to highlight just how important it is to reach out if you, a loved one, or a classmate you know is experiencing issues with their mental health. As shown today, our community is strong, and always here to support those in need.

Never be afraid to confide in a trusted adult; opening up is the first and most important step to improving your mental health situation. We know it has been a difficult time for many students, but we also know we can get through this together.
